Driver Requirements

To qualify as a Jaynstar driver, you must meet the following criteria:

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Hold a valid NSW Driver’s License (Full or Unrestricted).
  • Have an ABN (Australian Business Number) for tax purposes.
  • Provide a valid Passenger Transport License Code (PTLC) or hire car authority.
  • Have comprehensive rideshare insurance and third-party property damage insurance.
  • Pass a background check and driving history check.
  • Own or have access to an eligible vehicle (see vehicle requirements below).

Vehicle Requirements:

  • Vehicle must be no older than 10 years from the current year.
  • Must be a 4-seat sedan, 6-seat large SUV, or 7-seat maxi SUV.
  • The vehicle must be in excellent condition, clean, and roadworthy.
  • Must pass an annual vehicle inspection by a licensed mechanic.
  • Have valid vehicle registration in NSW.

Driver Payments

At Jaynstar, we ensure that drivers receive fair and transparent earnings.

Earnings & Commission:

  • Drivers earn competitive fares based on distance, time, and demand.
  • Jaynstar takes a small commission from each fare to cover operational costs.
  • Weekly payouts are processed via bank transfer.
  • Drivers keep 100% of tips received from customers.

Minimum Fares & Additional Fees:

  • Each ride has a minimum base fare.
  • Additional fees apply for airport pickups, tolls, and peak-hour surcharges.
  • Cancellation fees apply if a rider cancels after a driver has accepted a trip.

Safety & Fatigue Management

At Jaynstar, safety is our top priority. We have strict policies in place to ensure drivers and passengers stay safe.

Safety Guidelines:

  • Follow all NSW road safety laws and traffic regulations.
  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Ensure that passengers wear seatbelts at all times.
  • Maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or misconduct.

Fatigue Management:

  • Drivers should not work more than 12 hours within a 24-hour period.
  • Take regular breaks to avoid fatigue.
  • If feeling tired, stop driving and rest before continuing.
